The Phaser 6010 is a Xerox laser printer that not only offers several strong features and high-quality prints – it also helps you reduce your carbon footprint. This printer features excellent design characteristics, a 30,000 monthly duty cycle and several networking options. It lacks several of the features that would make it a top laser printer, but if you aren’t concerned with all the extras, this may be a printer worth your consideration.
One of the standout features available on the Phaser 6010 is its 30,000-page monthly duty cycle. This means that this laser printer can print approximately 30,000 pages a month without causing the printer to overheat or causing any other technical problems. This device offers maximum resolution for both black and white and color prints at 600 x 600 dpi (dots per inch) and also offers duplex printing. This duplex printing feature allows you to print on both sides of a single sheet of paper, but it must be done manually. There is not an automatic setting available on this printer.
The Phaser 6010 prints at a speed of 15 pages per minute for black and white documents and 12 pages per minute for color documents. We were disappointed with the slower printing speeds and the wait time for the printing projects to complete.
If you are looking to print on a variety of paper sizes, the Phaser 6010 makes that possible. This laser printer supports a selection of paper sizes up to 8.5 x 14 inches. The paper tray available on the printer stores 160 sheets of paper. This isn’t a large amount of paper, and if used frequently, the trays will have to be restocked on a repeated basis. This Xerox printer also offers 128MB of installed memory, which is similar to what most laser printers offer.
Another advantage to using this printing device is its energy-efficient features. The Phaser 6010 consumes only 180 watts during use. This is one of the lowest amounts of energy we saw any laser printer use. It is also ENERGY STAR qualified, meaning this laser printer has met several energy-saving requirements.
The Phaser 6010 laser printer met all our design expectations. This device is small at only 15.5 inches wide, 9.2 inches tall and 12 inches thick. This is a device to consider if you want to put your printer on your desk or a table without taking up too much space. The Phaser 6010 weighs 23.4 pounds so it is easy to move from one area to another. However, even though the dimensions are small and the product is lightweight, this device feels sturdy and strong. This printer won’t break if you do need to move it or if something falls on top of it.
The Phaser 6010 offers many benefits to its users. Its standout features include low power consumption, a 30,000-page monthly duty cycle and small dimensions. There is room for improvement to a variety of features that would make it a top printer for both office and home use. For what it currently offers, it will do excellently in a home environment.
The Phaser 6010 consumes only 180 watts of power during use.
This laser printer has poor printing speeds and can only print a color document at 12 pages per minute.
The Phaser 6010 offers several features but lacks a lot of bells and whistles to make it a top laser printer.
