HP Unveils Worlds First Web Connected Printer
Like me, many people are probably thinking "Woohoo, a new printer" ... Or not. But HP's latest Photosmart printer does actually have a few features that, while they may not be something to get excited about, are at least different enough to make you look again. Is the world's first web-connected printer worth the hype? Is it worth any hype?Jumping on the touchscreen bandwagon, the HP Photosmart Premium has a 4.33" touchscreen on the front. This Touchsmart Web has several bundled online apps that help you do things like print Google Maps, tickets, photos from Snapfish and whatever else you may need printed on paper. Dell Introduces Printer Without Wires and Ink
Dell has begun shipping a wireless and inkless mobile printer, the Dell Wasabi PZ310 photo printer, based on Zink's inkless technology. It prints 2 x 3-inch images that you can peel off the back and stick anywhere you like (read: heyday for junior high girls and their boyfriends' lockers).The cool part is that the printer doesn't use ink. Zero Ink debuted their products years ago, creating images with paper that has embedded dye crystals that are heat sensitive. The printer can produce an image in about 55 seconds. Some say that it saves money because you don't have to keep buying ink to print photos. However, I think that having to buy the special paper balances out the money saved on...
